I had trouble connecting initially, then I switched WinMx and Monitor to run as Administrator, and I haven't had any problems since.

I had trouble getting WinMX 3.53 to connect when I moved to Vista Home Premium. I install WinMX 3.54 b4 from https://patch.winmxconex.com/ and that solved the problem.

I am having the same problem - loads, but takes FOREVER to connect, no results on searching. I'm using an HP quad with Vista X64. It worked ONCE a week or so ago, tho.

Have you tried running WinMX as administrator? Just right click on the WinMX icon and click on Run as Administrator. Once you do a test, and if it starts working you can set it to do that every time you open it automatically. Juck right click on the WinMX icon and click on Properties, then click on the Compatibility tab, and click the box to Run as Administrator (located toward the bottom of the window).
