dont forget the winmx app itself can message ppl too... eagles patch has a 'popup' notification that a new version is available... was intended for a new version of the patch but can be used for the whole thing... then theres the update bar that currently has the 'thanks eagle!' message in it....

Again.....I've been playing with Mx for a few hours now with no signs of attacks. I tried connecting and reconnecting several times, found many accurate searches with no crazy files showing up......
Starting to think that whoever was doing it knows we are on the verge of a new cliant and cut bait. What reason would they have to continue?

the attacks come and go... depending on the whims of the attackers and network saturation (it does come to a point that the network gets so small the attacks become useless)

also.. have you ever heard the term 'bait and switch' ?

North american group has gotten so small you have to search C: to get any results.......

the region selection doesnt really have an effect... it selected a different set of cache servers once apon a time...

tho it does change a value in one of the packets as well ... which has an odd effect when mx was working ... which was selecting 'asia' gets more search results due to the majority of mxers being in japan and also having 'asia' set...
