Well ive tested FXChat server But most of the time it always gets up to 99% cpu and starts lagging my computer. Has anyone else had this problem?

It has potential, but i think thats about all it has at the moment... worth keeping an eye on though in case the problems get sorted out

The main thing that makes me wonder about FXServ is the fact that it seems (judging by its config options etc) eerily similar to KM's WCS. Now whether the author of FXServ is actually using some of KM's work in this, I dont know... but as a rule I tend not to trust something that looks too much like something else. If Im way off base, then Im open to it and a big thank you goes to the author for supporting the community with FXServ.

Maybe its just me being paranoid, lol.

Heres a list of the level commands used

m - Motd. Able to change the motd (/setmotd command).
w - Watch commands. Able to see commands of other people
i - Watch IPs. Able to see users IPs
l - Watch levels. Able to see users level
M - Able to see the Messages for the admins
n - Able to use /notice command
q - Allowed to make multiple connections to the chat (you can join the room with many nicknames as you want)
+ - Show a + in front of the name in the user list. (When you get this one a message is sent to the chat)
@ - Show a @ in front of the name in the user list. (When you get this one a message is sent to the chat)
r - Able to Redirect the channel to another one
f - Flood. Able to flood

I've been trying fxserver for a while, seems to run fine BUT if a nushi joins the room (i used 2.71 english version to test) you cannot kick it! just gives "unknown user" error. I've contacted the author via the p2p.italia forum, waiting on a reply and a fix. I'll let you know how it goes.

That would be great Baphster, I was wondering where or if there was a bug report site or place. Not that there are alot of problems however a few people have had some questions not covered on the help page the author has provided. If you have a link let us know...

spam bug?

Is that when I would post that channelname or my public channelname in the FXServ room it would kick? Admins and all!

As for the new opmsg, good thing!

I did a block on admsg so that when one would do /admsg <text> it worked as if an opmsg, now i can take that out of the config YAY! lol

When I get home from work tonite, I'm going to try out the latest version of FXServ, (as I put it to rest until it got some work

)

Does anyone know if the /channelname works on it yet?

At least, the bug of the rabbit-user that make all users to fall, should be fixed.

The main changes are in the config file.
Added the commands:

/TextFormat n=<format> n is the number that identifies the text format. See the config.txt as an example, download it from the download section.

/addPassword <YourPassword>=<access>=n the new thing is the n parameter, indentifier of the text format. The user that logs in with that password will use the specified textformat. You can make many textformats and passwords as you want

To change the textformat used by someone you can now use the command /setuserlevel with the command +Fn where n is the number identifying the text format. For example, you want your friend to appear in the room with the 2nd text format created with /TextFormat. Well you will type /setuserlevel NameOfYourFriend_12345 +F2

/DefaultFormat User=n Set the default text format for the normal user
/DefaultFormat +=n Set the default text format for users with the "+" access
/DefaultFormat Admin=n Set the default text format for the Admins

Many other changes, see the config file for an example. Download it with the server from the download section.

Note that this version is temporary, soon a new tested version and, hopefully, better than this one :p

Please redownload the server from this site in order to update the config file. Do not use the autoupdate this time. Thanks

Some words about how you can change the text format of a user.

Okay, well unfortunately I have tried to no avail to get a hold of the older copies of the FXServ program.

So if anyone happens to have versions 1.0.0 or 1.1.1 we would love to have them for our Archive. If you have either of these versions post me a note or pm me and let me know....
