Can explain a little bit for users here the .att file from what I read online is a file extesnion for a type of text file format similar to txt or html it shows some variables that can be used in the MOTD, you will notice the majority are actually the ones that can be used in the /level & /levelto commands. There is a couple extra ones that can be used you should check your level statement you should have to change %ChannelName% to %RawChannelName% to show the full channel address when the command is executed. Anything that we figure out we'll be sure to tell you :)

While I was checking out for a new release today I noticed a Japanese release

http://ouka.dip.jp/ChatServerJ_530b_2006_02_21_2300.zip

Maybe helpful to some non english users here but please dont bother unless you speak Japanese  :)

Perhaps we will see a new english version soon  :D

Pop the new Server.exe inside your English version and it's in complete English. Add ReStartWPN=1 to the [Settings] section of the Server.ini file, this lets the server connect to the WPN without having to manually do it each time. Thanks Ouka :)

This is a nicely featured chat server that is steadily gaining a userbase on the WPN. It is a great replacement for RCMS based rooms as it utilises the same commands and  simplicity of setup.

Get a copy of Version 450c  from here

Also read our tutorial for setup information and command reference

Hi Monika , it looks like that is a very old link, I think it may be on the tutorial itself and I,ll have it pointed to the archive to keep it updated sorry for the disappointment.

Now for the good news  :)

Various blocks notifications such as rename, joining ,leaving and others have been modified to provide a more reliable operation
Corrected a block error in the operation of exiting with 3.53X clients

As usual I have done a non exact qouting of Oukas words for the above, but it seems he may have fixed some of the very minor annoyances that we have been seeing for a while I hope this proves a successful test.

Would just like to correct myself on what I said about the Motd.aat file. Use /setmotd /server to show the contents of the Motd.aat to users as they enter the channel, can have a max of 32 lines with 128 characters in each line can use any of the variables the server has to use except the stay time, message total, and ping time. Also would like to add the cohosts and hosts can use this command #AA <file> file being "motd" for to show the Motd.aat. You can make your own files up but rename them from .txt to .aat and use #AA <filename> to show them, they should be put in the chat server folder though dont expect it to load files from anywhere else (I haven't tried but I doubt it works anywhere else). To make them private so that only the user who executed the command see's them add /server to the first line of the file, without it they will be shown in main chat for everyone to see. Big thanks to Ouka for explaing that one to me :)

Some of theses commands are getting rather obscure now I think, but as long as someone wants them, its always a good time to plough ahead  :D

$NoUserNotify$="There is no user of"

$BanNotify$="was Banned by"

This seems to be a small tidying up of some of the error/help  messages and the addition of some minor new ones.
Perhaps Ouka has decided that he is going to take a well deserved rest soon, as all the major work has been done and now the minor work is nearing completion also  :?

Or for Japanese Users

http://ouka.dip.jp/archive/ChatServerJ_540a_2006_03_14_1000.zip

I havent heard any complaints recently so it looks like a minor bugfix...Hmm this info is on Oukas download page.

A small bug then and nothing to worry about.

 If set as below the colour is indicated.

 RCMSConf.txt

$ [ Private ]       $= "#c3#      [ private communication ]"
$ [ AdminMsg ]   $= "#c4#      [ business communication ]"

The translation is the usual mix of words folks but its pretty clear he has modified the server to allow a change of the message colours to winmx standard colours.

Time for those who like testing to get to work, normal users are advised not to use this version.

* Bearded Blunder thinks if Ouka is ever at a loose end, with no good ideas of improvements.. support for WCS colour codes would be very nice

I'm sure I'm not the only host ever to wish for it... people with many such codes end up with annoyingly disrupted names...

I have already been requesting a similar feature, so it seems i'm not the only one  :D It's at the very bottom in the menu at
http://www.webfrik.com/Oukahelp/
 ..trying to gather as much as i can there, and send the requests to Ouka as they comes.

However, Jason has found a way to replace the colour codes in nick names OnEnter, with the use of Metis and the command in Ouka, #SetNickname #Name. Not the best way of course, but a temporary solution.

Yes, I independantly came up with the same basic solution, using metis & <OnEnter> with lots of strrep lines...., & text replace will make typed codes function in there too (for wcs based ascii art etc).. but as a solution, it has disadvantages, like breaking the ability of those users to receive PM from the userlist

Damn, he's fast... Seems to be a good beginning on what you requested:
http://ouka.dip.jp/rss/OukaChatServerE.html
http://ouka.dip.jp/archive/ChatServerE_540b_2006_04_28_0000.zip

Test version, it includes support for #c?# (same as the #cx#)

Something that seems to be not documented, is how it handles level 2 users (level 2 will stay on level 2, not automatically set to level 3 on first message in channel). Probably ok to mention that level 2 can not make use colour codes.

It also includes separate windows for penalty and bans. Banlist can contain 256 entries, and for now the host can set the amount of time the user is banned (from 1 minute to 24 hours (and permanent ban of course))

Better late than never i guess. BeardedBlunder, using the #AdminCmd ReplaceTextOn will work with the current release of Ouka (and probably any upcoming releases). Changes needs to be done in the RCMSconf.txt as shown below, just replace Word[num] with the correct number if you have other entries from before.
Code: [Select]
[Replace] ; (0-255)
Word[0]="#c51#=#c10#"
Word[1]="#c52#=#c11#"
Word[2]="#c53#=#c12#"
Word[3]="#c54#=#c13#"
Word[4]="#c55#=#c14#"
Word[5]="#c56#=#c15#"
Word[6]="#c57#=#c16#"
Word[7]="#c58#=#c17#"
Word[8]="#c59#=#c18#"
Word[9]="#c60#=#c19#"
Word[10]="#c61#=#c20#"
Word[11]="#c62#=#c21#"
Word[12]="#c63#=#c22#"
Word[13]="#c64#=#c23#"
Word[14]="#c65#=#c24#"
Word[15]="#c66#=#c25#"
Word[16]="#c67#=#c26#"
Word[17]="#c68#=#c27#"
Word[18]="#c69#=#c28#"
Word[19]="#c70#=#c29#"
Word[20]="#c71#=#c30#"
Word[21]="#c72#=#c31#"
Word[22]="#c73#=#c32#"
Word[23]="#c74#=#c33#"
Word[24]="#c75#=#c34#"
With this, the correct colour will show up in the chat, both in messages and the users name itself.
I will also see to that this tip is included in the online help.
