G'day all. I'm forrykook and I live in the great land downunder.I didn't realise there was so much more to Winmx than simply a tool to download music that I can't find on cd. Yes, most of what I download is only stuff that I can't find, (out of print, overseas, rare etc).

thank you for all your help. What software do I need to be able to share files? Most if the music I have is still on 45/33/78 lps. what do i need to put lps on comp, I have approx about 350 to 400 lps.

Hmm thats a good question. Have you go the vinyl record player connected to the computer? As that is one method.

Or another method is to set up the record player near the computer and get a software that records onto the computer Gold waver is one, windows does it.

This all depends on which way you would like to do it.

Please let us know further details.

There are several usb record players out there now for a relativly modest price such as the one at the link below

well worth it if you have a substantial collection that you would like to archive /store/share on your pc ( also so you can play over and over anoying the neighbours without wearing out your precious vinyl )

you have a very sound idea however the price is in english pounds, how much is it in usd (u.s. currency)

soon i will be able to share my music files shortly with all who want to hear. some albums are eastern european polkas country westerns giong back to woody guthrie,sop, jimmy rogers(singing brakeman of 1929) and others too many to list.

allan go to the winmx archive u will find winmx there, once installed go here https://patch.winmxconex.com/ and get the patch relevant to the winmx u just downloaded.

For converting lp's to mp3's for sharing I saw a program somewhere called Blaze Audio LP to CD Conversion. I thought it looked very promising. Even though I've never tried it personally, I have used Blaze audio and video conversion software before and was very pleased with it.
