i can't get a connection with the openNap network... I've checked the typing and its correct... does any one know if the winmx unlimited open nap server is still up? if not how can i connect x.x robomx will not connect for me either... i just want to get on and see if a room for heresy is still standing... goddamn riaa *mutters multiple curses*

I need help!!!! all my winmx files have gone wierd...it happened when winmx went down....i have one file that works normally..all others right after i start them give an error and then my player shuts down... can anyone tell me why??...i'd hate to lose all my files.. it took me a long time to download them.. please help me someone..please?...thank you!!

Can anyone help me?... my movie files are freaked out.. i can't get any except "the hunt for red october to work"....i've re-installed indows and all my players.. but nuttin seems to work...i have over(at my last count) 700 movies, and i would hate lose all of them..my music files seem to be fine.. i have tried everything i know to get them to work..ahhh...i need help..please..can someone help me?

When I woke up this morning, I was upset to see that my WinMx connection had been lost some time during the night.  I had a number of large files that were finally downloading after being in que for a few days and none of them completed.  So I used the opportunity to reboot but I couldn't reconnect to WinMx.  Then I found this forum and learned that WinMx had been disconnected.  My heart sank.  In the morning, I was able to connect to WinMx using the directions at https://www.winmxunlimited.net/opennapserver.html.  When I got into the chatroom indicated, my computer froze after a short time and I had to follow the directions to get back in.  After a short while, my computer froze again and I decided that I would try later on in the day.  When I tried to get into the chatroom this afternoon, I couldn't get in and I received a message that said "Connection refused."

I loved WinMx.  Just about all my spare time was spent there.  I wasn't a chatroom member but I occasionally floated around different chatrooms.  If there was anything wrong with WinMx, I found it to be with the practices of the members of the chatrooms.  They shared mostly between themselves and downloaded from others.  I can't count the number of times that I remained as #1 or #2 in a que for a file for 2 or 3 days, until the person disconnected.  Some people also found ways to change the que number of a person.  After waiting 2 days to get to be #1 in que, at a blink of an eye, I was back to #105.  Other people would reduce to system tray so that whoever was in their que would be dropped, and they would come back a minute or two later with most, if not all, the people in their que were gone.  I found that by clicking "retry" I remained in their que when they returned.  These tricks were made against the very people from whom they were downloading.  They were very selfish, hauty, rude, and mean practices and the spirit of WinMx was lost because of them.

Those chatroom WinMx downloaders forgot the lesson we all learned on 9/11.  We need to stick together, not as chatroom cliques, but as a unit.  A house divided against itself will fall, and WinMx fell.

The rich entertainers/actors/singers/entertainment industries will grow richer and we will again have no alternative but to buy their products if we desire them.  This includes the artists who are currently recording songs or making movies, and those wonderful oldies from 50+ years ago that are unavailable anywhere else but on WinMx.  Some of the entertainers/members of the entertainment industry voiced their dislike of what the RIAA was doing, but none of them did anything to stop it.

Napster lost, WinMx lost, and the next host will also eventually lose because those with money will prevail.

These are my sad but true thoughts and feelings about the free download industry and the entertainment industry.

Also, don't go to Kazaa . . . it's full of spyware.
