Great to hear from you Johnnie  8)

Its rather humbling to hear from all the folks in many different lands all coming together to declare their support for the network, we at winmxworld thank each and everyone of you for posting here and showing that support.

I saw this posted somewhere and its certainly appropriate here.

The patch worked, but now I have a different problem: I can't get nobody to upload, so nobody let me download (of course!). Any advise?

Often Roberto,

That problem is due to a few things..

1. is usually a router or dsl modem that requires ports to be set up, if you cant set your ports in WinMX to unable.
https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/routers_info.html
2. a firewall that is either started blocking when you installed the patch, if so remove the winmx from those rules and reapply it. or that is not set up right to allow WinMX..
https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/firewall.html
3. Your ports are not set correctly in WinMX, Look at Settings > Incoming TCP.. set to correct port (or like above set to unable as last resort)
In/OUT UDP do the same (either set to correct port or Unable)

let us know...

Hi CopyCat,

Welcome to the site... I would suggest some things for you but i think you would be better off to tell me some more info about your set up first to save time..

What version of WinMX do you use?
What patch version do you have installed?
Do you use primary or secondary?
What type of Internet connection do you have?
Do you have a Router or Nat Modem?

Give us a shout we'll see if we can help ya..

What is up y'all, I have been a WinMX user for years and had given up almost. I just  put a 500 gb raid0 setup in my pc and didn't bother to transfer my music files to my new system. So today I decided to see if winmx would work. I am sooo happy.

Hi all from Shania Twain's home town of Timmins Ontario.   Been a WinMX user for years, though I have a huge CD collection and seldom need to download, it is nice to share.   Tried all the Rest,  Aires, Limewire, Soulseeker and Bit Torrent clients of various types and always come back here, 'cause this is where the SERIOUS record collections live on.   The rest are fine if you want the latest stuff, but if it is a rare oldie, sooner or later you will come to realise, the only place you can get it is WinMX or the OpenNap networks.

OpenNap is fine but you need 5 or 6 networks to get the same number of subscribers as ONE WinMX connection.   Many OpenNap clients are never active and in the case of CD-Junkie - have over 100 requests waiting on line, when they could get the record on WinMX here and now.

The cable internet connection in Timmins has been upgraded and now I can regularly give OVER 70Kb per second downloads to one person, or 14Kb per second to each of my 5 download slots.    When I want stuff I do limit this to 65Kb to give me a better speed for my own download from you.
Kind regards,   Tom.

Hey YALL....I have been a host and admin for years here and I download almost ALWAYS from here solely.....I help host Metal Warriors...WinMX is growing in the design of the room and I think that is AWSOME!!  All the art that you see displayed when you enter some rooms is pretty incredible to me. I saw this evlove for the past 5 years and I remember when it started evolving on AUDIOGALAXY.  There are some real computer wizards here and I have some Ideas that maybe some of you could help me with as to how to keep trouble makers at bay. =-) \m/*¿*\m/

Hi, I'm a WinMX user from several years back in New Zealand, and I have a collection of many tens of thousands of files, consisting of conspiracy and documentary and music videos, scientific/technical and business e-books and programs, classical music audio files, and classical music scores. However, about  two years ago, after downloading many useful and vital files not available elsewhere, an excessive number of fake files, mostly pretending to be programs, came along, and I was forced to divert to  other sources of files instead, like BitTorrent, EDonkey (which BTW now works without the new lying RIAA-inspired popup only if you disconnect from the internet before starting it, then reconnect), and Limewire. However, I am going to try WinMX again, using the newer version which excludes fake files.
P.S. Does anyone know if NapMX, an add-on for WinMX which detects and connects to PNP WinMX servers, still works? It does not appear to.
