any chatserver will need a port forwarding, & many will require the host to enter bots & chatclients in the room using loopback (there's a tutorial in the tuporials section) that depends on the specific router, not the chatserver in use (ie you'd need to using ouka or wcs as well if you have such a router)

Better still goto your router configuration, look unter firewall/NAT usually and set your pc to DMZ. ie. put the router ip of your pc in 192.168.1.*, that will take the firewall from your router off your pc, then get a software firewall, thats all i use , FX has been running for 2 weeks non stop as u can see (below) & peeps have entered fine!  :D

Yeah and make sure the firewall is good and is on.

Hi

There seems to be an error in connection when loading FXS when using the following operating systems
Vista and Windows 7

in regards to it will just not connect as it cant seem to read the current wmw patch as it is set default to look for the pie HOSTS file

this hosts file has been updated with winmxworld caches by Hollow and works

I have attached the rar file to this post :)

Cheers ··º)([¥])(º·· Eagle  8)

Is anyone on win7 aware of a non host file method of fixing this problem as one of the benefits of the dll is that it can keep track of cache IP changes and also how using this fix may affect their winmx operation, anyone able to help with info on this ?

Wouldn't the eagle patched version of FXS work? It points to winmxworld caches i believe without the need of a dll or Host file.

Right been messing with this. Tried a few registry tweaks and it dont work. So im afraid you are stuck on a host file for now. Ill keep on at this.

Hiya
i know on the FX 1.3.9 that had to use either a hosts file, or the 3rd party patch,
but on the FX 1.3.10betta 11  there was an option to add the peer cache ip's direct into your config (this dont work on the fx 1.3.10betta 13 as that was cache fixed by eagle.

if using the fx 1.3.10 betta 11, this should work in config, (i took the ip's from the hosts file that was on previous post)
Quote
/setWpnOption UsePeerCacheList=1  << make sure that is set to 1
/setWpnOption AddPeerCache=78.47.24.173
/setWpnOption AddPeerCache=83.98.246.175
/setWpnOption AddPeerCache=87.106.62.247
/setWpnOption AddPeerCache=87.106.66.139
you can have upto 10 cache ip's in the config, it will only read 10 maximum, and you can set your wpn to 2-6 depends how much bandwidth you want to use
