If you're using vista and having problems with 3.0 on secondary, give this patch a try (pop it in the winmx folder, over the top of the existing file) and let me know if it works or not.

1.> Delete the existing patch
2.> put this patch instead

Cheers :P

install winmx from winmxgroup.com, then put that oledlg.dll in the winmx directory (on top of the existing one)

I have just purchased a new laptop complete with Vista home edition. Toshiba, over 1,gb ram, 110 gb hard drive, 1.66 ghz. Cannot remain online for searches for more than a minute. Continual uncommanded disconnection. Really is a first rate pain. Seems others are experiencing similar problems. I dont know what to do about it. Any help for a dumb Aussie?????

For everyone with vista and problems:

1.> Close winmx.

2.> Go to your winmx folder and delete a file called OLEDLG.DLL.

3.> Now download the file on this link:
https://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=4360.0;attach=1400
and put it in the folder in which the winmx.exe file is there

4.> If some connections problems occur, remove the firewall rules of winmx and re add them.

5.> Restart winmx and try connections on primary and secondary.

Cheers :P

may i suggest people stop just going posting replies to threads without reading them?

i mean seriously, several people have posted in this very thread asking someone to direct them to the page they are already on about the vista fix

i just wish microsoft would hurry up and release windows... oh shit, they did? well i better go find an announcement about windows being released so i can reply to it saying i wish they'd hurry up and release windows...

and then they wonder why i can't be bothered half of the time...

I need help??? I got a new computer with Vista Home premium windows. I hate it! Well now that I got that off my chest. I downloaded winmx and the patch. I also got the new patch but i can't get it in the file of winmx. My computer won't let me. It is driving me nuts. One of the threads said to delete oledig.dll and replace it with the new patch oledlg.dll. How do I do it with vista windows. Help? I read all the threads and tried many different things to try and get it done but this computer won't let me. Any help would be appreciated.  :?

How do you copy ?...
Just the normal was. Delete the original oledlg.dll and replace it with this one.
Try running on administrator and see if that helps

The home edition of vista has a reputation of being the worst of the vista releases :(

Cheers :P

does this patch work better with the 3.0.3.54b4 or the original release 3.0 multi ? i installed beta4 added the dll done the port scan (worked ok) open winmx can connect Primary and secondry just the second i actually try to download a file it says disconnected. this isnt a discon from server or the network just the file lol if that makes sense OS is vista home oem btw.

and ime no noob at configuring routers been using MX for like  ever :)

does it say complete in the transfer window?
Also, do the files play alright if you rename them ?
No jitters and all.
Does the ___incomplete___ go away, or does that stay?
I don't know, but somehow, vista might be preventing winmx from renaming the files...

Cheers :P

In the transfer window it turns blue and says complete, but in the winmx library and my music file it does the _____incomplete____thing. Once I rename it the song plays fine, no jitters unless my wireless adapter is pluged in, that's a whole-nother story..........

check the file isn't being uploaded to anyone at the time the download finishes, as that would block the rename

otherwise it could be something else accessing the file causing it, does it eventually rename if left alone for a while?
