I think those who have attacked the network Jim suffer from Napoleon syndrome, small minded little ppl who want to stamp their feet and make folks look at them, ok we all looked now and are still vastly underwhelmed, I am starting to think we should club together to by these few folks a teddy as its clear they are of a childish mind and maybe we have been too harsh on these little ones

Keep the faith Jim  8)

reading back today, and the discussion about subst got me thinking...

Old Tech trick for an old tech fix to an old problem, but what the Hell...

Batch file containing the subst command, put it in windows startup...
.
share said batch file widely and vigorously!

An interesting idea Bluey, this was written some time ago on a similar topic, it might help some of the readers here get a better dea of your scheme.

Is there still an erroneous search results problem?  I'm still getting search responses that have nothing to do with my search terms.

Queues were running under 20. They're back up to 100. Looks like a lot of users are comiong back. Foiund browsing users in queu is a good way to find files I'm looking for that are not showing up in search. I'm amazed hjowmany have browsing blocked or have no files shared.  Maybe that will get better as the net returns to normal.

blocking browse isnt possible... if you see a user that reports to have files in their whois but you cannot browse them; they, or you, or both, are having a connection problem.... ...wait a while (hour or two) and if they are still online try to browse again...

Who're you calling bonehead, bonehead. Someone needs to find these dirtbags and teach them a lesson.

We have taught them a lesson.

We've taught them, as a community we'll not be bullied, we won't turn tail and run away at the first sign of trouble and we'll hang in there together.

Now they're sitting somewhere with their keyboard in their hands wondering why what they are doing isn't having the desired effect.

It's only the main WinMX network that is being affected if you just disconnect from that and rely on your opennap connections you can search just fine.

For those who perceive 'shit' and perceive an end, then yes this is how 'shit' ends.

I however still see a community rather than 'shit' and a challenge rather than an end.
I also see community members on this forum and in many chat rooms who rise to the challenge and don't let their frustrations beat them into submission.

I've attached the currently working OpenNap networks that I use, you just have to import it and select all the ones you want to connect to and hit connect. Then go back and disconnect from the main winmx network so the fake files go away.

I imagine whoever is doing it will eventually get bored and stop then everyone can just connect to it again. I'll add this WSX to a share on my computer too so anyone search can find it.
